Richmond's New Bike, Ped & Trails Coordinator
The City of Richmond has hired Jakob C. Helmboldt as Richmond’s first “Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Coordinator.”
Jakob Helmboldt has worked for the Federal Highway Administrationas well as being the statewide Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator for the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Recently, he wrote an opinion piece for Hampton Roads Pilot the entitled Pursuing Complete Streets.
Here's hoping he can help meet the city's goal of making Richmond one of the most bicycle and pedestrian-friendly cities in the country.
