Richmond residents are invited to the Virginia War Memorial to consider development strategies for banks of the city's mighty James. The draft plan will describe:
- public realm improvements
- emphasizing pedestrian and bike connections
- transportation corridors
- identification of anticipated future private development
- with a prioritized plan for implementation
This is a great opportunity to weigh in on the City of Richmond's pursuit of an enhancement plan for the riverfront. Hargreaves' first and second presentation on existing conditions in the downtown James River area is posted here and here.
The Virginia War Memorial will open doors to visitors at 5:15 for those who may want to explore the historical exhibits and impressive Shrine of Memory. Parking is available at the Virginia War Memorial, on 2nd Street, and at the neighboring VHDA parking lot.
