Greetings Fellow Trail Enthusiants,

Bill Blythe and his Sweco has left Richmond and left us with 2+ miles of sweet singletrack to buff out and finish. Including existing trail, Forest Hill will have around 3.1 miles of singletrack when completed. The job was completed one day early at a considerable cost savings. This would not have been possible without your help. The preparation work you guys did made the difference. Nathan and his crew appreciate your tremendous help and involement. Well done people!

There's a lot to be accomplished in the coming weeks. We have a couple of bridges to be built, of which one will be 35 feet long. A set of railings will have to be installed across the concrete waste pipe near Riverside Drive. There will also be a lot of reclamation of old trail and a ton of new native trees to be planted. Throw in some rock work and it's not hard to see that we have our work cut out for us.

Nathan thinks we can get some work done this weekend. It's still raining as I write this but what Nathan has in mind is still doable despite the wet conditions. He would like to get a good start on some of the reclamation work. In this case, he wants to rake leaves from the uphill side of the new trail to the downhill side. That's about it. If you have rakes or blowers, bring them.

On another note, please respect Nathan's wish for the trails to be closed. The trails are in no condition to be used and if ridden will just make it harder for us to finish the work. They are still very soft. Nathan has borrowed a plate compactor from Rich Edwards of IMBA fame and will use that to compact the soil. Again, please respect Nathan's wishes and pass this information on to your friends.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
